This is true partially due to our Methodist roots, as the mantra “open hearts, open minds, open doors” is one we’ve lived into throughout our history, and this is even more true as Hillview UMC has demonstrated a commitment to becoming a safe place for LGBTQIA+ individuals and others who have been historically discriminated against in church settings by being the first United Methodist Church in Idaho to join the Reconciling Ministries Network over a decade ago!

In practice, what this means is that if you visit Hillview, you are welcome to come as you are! Whether it’s your first Sunday, or you’ve been here for decades, whether your faith defines you, or you aren’t sure what you believe, if you’ve been told you don’t belong or asked to leave other faith communities because of your big questions, marital status, gender identity, sexuality, or any other social identifier or part of yourself and your story, at Hillview you will find a loving, welcoming, accepting community that has room for you just as you are!
