For some of us who grew up in the church, Youth group is one of our most beloved memories. For others, these summer camps, fun game nights, and Sunday programs are complicated by experiences where we were told how and what we needed to believe, or were taught to feel shame about ourselves or our families.
At Hillview, we are dedicated to creating a space where spiritual exploration, learning to support one another, and having fun can all happen without fear of harmful messages of shame and discrimination being worked into the mix.
Church should be Fun!
And Claire is working hard to make sure that Hillview UMC’s Youth Group is not only a safe place to connect with other Youth, but that Sunday Morning breakout groups and our monthly Youth outings are some of the most fun moments of Youth at Hillview’s week. Join us for nights at corn mazes, creative outings like painting pottery at the “Empty Bowls” event for the Idaho Food Bank, or march along with us in the Boise Pride Parade!
